Officials have arrested two women on heroin charges after an investigation into citizen’s complaints related to drug activity in the New Bern area.

Felicia A. Goins, 41, of New Bern, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and felony possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine.

Catherine T. Mross, 49, of Bridgeton, was charged with felony possession of heroin.

The Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team along with the New Bern Police Department conducted a search on a residence located near 965 Half Moon Road in New Bern on December 7.

Officials said they found felony amounts of heroin and cocaine after conducting an investigation stemming from citizen’s complaints into drug activity in the area.

“We will aggressively go after those who sell this poison in our communities; I’d like to thank the citizens of Craven County for reporting drug activity in their communities,” said Sheriff Hughes.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
