In Farmville, over a dozen church congregations joined together to worship in unity Sunday.
It was for Farmville United at the Cross.
People marched from the community center to town common for an outdoor church service.
The goal is to unite different denominations and races.
Organizers said it is important for people to form lasting friendships and come together to love one another.
“I think when people see this, they are going to get curious about it and want to know what is going on,” Jumping Run church member, Roy Shepard, said. “By them being curious about it and asking about what’s going on, I think more people will want to join in to help make a difference.”
This is the third year Farmville has done the service.
It always falls on the same weekend as the dogwood festival.
Organizers said this year’s may have been the biggest turnout yet.
