Wednesday, hundreds of Pitt Community College students and alumni attended the school’s annual spring career fair.
Around 400 people met with different companies and organizations to learn more about their field of work.
“The career fair is really important because it allows our students to connect with employers to learn more about the fields of work they are interested and entering, and it also allows our employers to fill their hiring needs,” Arwin Parris with Pitt Community College said.
Nearly 40 employers set up booths from a variety of industries such as healthcare, construction, business, and public services.
“It allows the employers an opportunity to meet a wide variety of students in different majors so if they are looking to hire from multiple areas such as an engineering student but also office administration, they are able to do that,” Parris said.
While Wednesday’s career fair was limited to Pitt Community College students and alumni, the next one will be open to the community on June 5.
