The Pitt-Greenville Airport is making additions to accommodate children.
In June, PGV installed a children’s play area inside of the terminal. The new area includes a playhouse, slide, basketball hoop and a new tabletop train set. Coloring supplies and books to take on the flight are also available free of charge.
he entire installation cost less than four hundred dollars thanks to garage sales and the national retailer Toys R Us closing its doors.
“I feel strongly about reading and recycling and so this was a way to take both of those interests of mine and blend them into something,” said Betty Stansbury, Executive Director of Pitt-Greenville Airport.
Stansbury said the facility is now looking into additional services to entertain adults as well, including a free library for adult books and access to hot coffee inside the gate.
