Pitt Community College officially announced a new president. His name is Dr. Lawrence Rouse.

Rouse will become the fifth president in PCC’s 57-year history.

Dr. Rouse will bring more then 36 years of experience to the college. In a press conference on Thursday, Rouse expressed his excitement and future plans for the college here in the East.

“Most of all the success we are seeing in our students to reach their goals and be successful in their career or whether they want to go to a 4 year university, Pitt Community college is there to help,” he said.

In 2016, Dr. Rouse was named the N.C. Community College System’s President of the Year.
