The partial government shutdown remains in effect, but in Pitt County government offices said there is minimal impact.
County manager Scott Elliott said they have all the funds appropriated to them but if the shutdown continues it may be an issue to receive additional federal funding in the future.
“Right now, it’s a very short-term type of circumstance,” said Scott Elliott, Pitt County manager. “If the furlough, government shutdown, continues for a period of month, other types of federal bills will expire, but right now, there are no issues.”
He said no county employee is technically working without pay or furloughed.
The city of Greenville reports minimal impacts as well, but the shutdown could delay some of their planning for grant projects.
