ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WNCT) Police have arrested the suspect involved in several armed robberies reported in Elizabeth City.
Around 9:11 p.m. the Elizabeth City Police Department responded to the area of 961 Oak Stump Road in reference to an armed robbery.
Police arrived on the scene and canvassed the area for the suspect described as a light skin black male with dreads, wearing black boots, black pants, a black hoodie, black ski mask and purple latex gloves carrying a silver handgun.
Through further investigation, police said they located the suspect identified as 19-year-old Marcus Alexander Waldo Jr.
Waldo was arrested and warrants were served on him for two counts of armed robbery, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, and two counts of possession of stolen goods/property.
He was processed, taken before the magistrate, given a $44,000 secured bond and transported to Albemarle District Jail.
Detectives located the undisclosed amount of money that was taken from Dollar General, a silver handgun, the bag he used to place the money in and the clothing he was wearing during the robbery.
There were no injuries reported.
On Thursday, Waldo was served with an additional warrant that was obtained for robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Waldo was charged for robbing the Family Fare at 1008 US 17 South.
On October 22, 2019, around 11:45 p.m., police responded to the area of 1008 US 17 South in reference to an armed robbery.
Police arrived on the scene and canvassed the area for the suspect described as a light skin black male wearing black pants, black hoodie, black mask, black hat and had on gloves carrying a chrome in color handgun.
Police were unable to locate the suspect that night.
Waldo received an additional $50,000 bond for the new charge.
