The North Carolina Highway Patrol praised a trooper in Pasquotank County who helped save some baby opossums.

According to a Facebook post, a driver stopped to help after a car hit the mother opossum and one of its babies.

Trooper B.A. Davis helped catch the baby opossums and made arrangements for animal control to take them to a rehabilitation center. Davis also made sure the driver who stopped was safe.

In the Facebook post, NCHP said “good job” to Trooper Davis.

The highway patrol did not say what day the incident happened or where the opossums were hit.
