Greenville officials respond to two-vehicle crash

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- The Greenville Police Department and the Greenville Fire Rescue responded to a fire resulting from a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night.

Officials responded around 9 p.m. after they said two cars collided at the intersection of North Green Street and Belvoir Road. Greenville police said the two cars crashed into each other after one continued straight through a light as another was turning left.

‘Nurse extenders’ needed to lend helping hand for Pitt County schools

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- Pitt County Schools officials plan to resume in-person classes next week after two weeks of remote learning.

Elementary students and many middle and high school students return to classrooms Tuesday. To do that, though, the district needs more medical professionals to fill new positions.

Pitt County Schools announce resumption of in-person instruction next week

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- Pitt County Schools will resume in-person learning next week with a revised schedule, officials announced Wednesday.

The Pitt County Board of Education met on Jan. 11 and voted to pause face-to-face instruction from Jan. 12-22. This came after at least two schools were announced as having several COVID-19 cases, including Eastern Elementary and Ridgewood Elementary.
