A Goldsboro woman was arrested on a prostitution charge after Goldsboro police said she solicited an undercover officer.
Laketta S. Williams, 29, of Goldsboro, was charged with solicitation of prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Wednesday, an undercover officer from the Goldsboro Police Department patrolling the area of Leslie Street and Walnut Street.
Police said the undercover officer was flagged down by Williams, at which time she entered his vehicle and solicited the undercover officer.
Following the solicitation, a traffic stop was conducted and Williams was arrested, police said.
Williams was sent to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office and was given $2,000 bond.
She is scheduled to make a court appearance on June 26.
This arrest is part of an ongoing effort to increase patrol and enforcement action following several citizen complaints of prostitution, drug consumption and sales.
Officers with the Selective Enforcement Unit and the Gang Suppression Unit participated in the investigation and arrest.
