One woman was hospitalized with injuries after police say she drove her car off the side of a bridge and crashed on Friday in Greenville.
The crash happened at 9:45 a.m. Friday on the Tar River Bridge on Greenville Boulevard.
According to investigators, the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and the driver overcorrected, sending her car over the right side of the bridge, where it landed in an area covered in grass just before the river.
Officers say the driver was taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment of injuries, but she was conscious and talking to first responders after the crash.
The driver’s current condition is unknown.
The bridge was closed for approximately half an hour as crews cleared the crash scene.
