A woman was arrested Thursday on various drug charges after attempting to visit an inmate in the Pamlico County Detention Facility, deputies said.
Kimberly Rossi, of New Bern, was charged with four counts of trafficking opium, simple possession of methadone and simple possession of alprazolam.
The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office said Rossi showed up the Pamlico County Detention Facility to visit an inmate.
Rossi was sitting in the lobby of the Sheriff’s office and deputies said they realized that she had an outstanding warrant.
Deputies said they approached Rossi and told her she was under arrest.
Rossi pulled a pill bottle out of her pocket and handed it to a juvenile that was with her, deputies said.
Deputies said the pill bottle contained numerous different types of controlled medication.
Rossi was given a $250,000 bond.
