A baby was hit by a vehicle driven by the child’s mother in a Cary driveway on Monday night, officials say.
The incident involved a 1-year-old child and happened around 7:20 p.m. on Peg Street, a dead-end road in a neighborhood just west of WakeMed Soccer Park, Cary police said.
The child suffered serious injuries and was taken to WakeMed for treatment, according to officials.
Many people in the neighborhood were upset about the incident.
“Any child that is hurt whether it be a small bump or anything — hopefully the child will be okay,” said Adam Song, the property manager for the neighborhood.
Police say they’re still investigating how the incident happened and whether anyone will be charged.
