The Wilson Police Department has arrested two suspects after a man was found dead in the front yard of his home early Monday morning.
Jimmie R. Turner Jr. of Kenly was charged for first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Ashley N. Harrell of Stantonsburg was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The case is still under investigation.
A Wilson man is dead after police say he was found shot in the front yard of his home early Monday morning.
Wilson Police say at 1:30 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to shots fired call at 411 Stadium Street.
At the scene, officers found Evard Earl Artis, 63, lying in the front yard of his home with a gunshot wound.
Officers and EMS personnel tried unsuccessfully to save Artis’s life, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wilson Police said they’re continuing to investigate the shooting, but no further information will be released at this time.
