Deputies have arrested two men on numerous charges including trying to elude law enforcement during a traffic stop in Onslow County.
Anthony D. Dudley, 40, of Richlands was charged with:
- Felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Felony possession of a firearm with an altered serial number
- Resisting, obstructing and delaying a law enforcement officer
- Driving while license revoked
Trevor J. Harris, 27, of Richlands, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.
On Monday, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit concluded an investigation into suspected illegal drug activity in the Richlands community.
During the investigation, deputies conducted a traffic stop in which Dudley was the driver.
According to deputies, Dudley tried to flee and elude.
The Jacksonville Police Department provided a K-9 unit to locate Dudley.
Dudley was found in a field near the traffic stop.
Deputies said they found powder cocaine and two guns hidden inside a speaker box.
One of the guns had been altered to conceal the serial number, deputies said.
The passenger and owner of the vehicle was identified as Harris. was arrested without incident.
Both of them were sent to the Onslow County Detention Center.
Dudley was given a $23,000 bond and Harris a $5,300 bond.
