2 injured after four-vehicle accident on U.S. 264

Troopers are investigating a four-vehicle accident were one person was thrown from their car on U.S. 264 west of Washington Monday morning.

N.C. Highway Patrol Troopers responded to the accident around 10:30 a.m.

According to authorities, a van traveling west was doing a left turn into Hardees and crashed with a car that was traveling east.

The car hit a pickup truck, which hit another pickup truck that was pulling a boat.

The driver of the car and the van were transported to Vidant Beaufort Hospital for treatment.

Authorities believe the driver of the car was not wearing a seat belt.

Charges are still pending.
