JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Jacksonville Police Department said officers arrested a Camp Lejeune marine and charged him with sex offenses involving a minor.
21-year-old Levi Homschek faces charges including Statutory Sex Offense with a Child under the Age of 15, two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child under the Age of 15 and two counts of Patronizing a Place for Prostitution (involving a minor).
He was arrested off-base on June 28 and booked at the Onslow County Detention Center. Marine Officials say he joined the Marine Corps in September of 2013 was promoted to Lance Corporal in November of 2014.
Homschek was assigned to the 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
According to the Marine Corps, he doesn’t have any personal awards or deployments listed in his record.
Police say it is an open and on-going investigation.
The Marine Corps says is cooperating with civilian authorities.
