5 arrested after complaints that meth was being sold, used at residence in Chocowinity

Five individuals have been arrested after deputies received several complaints that meth was being sold and used at a residence in Chocowinity.

Aidan Kelley, 18, of Chocowinity, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thomas Kelley, 53, of Chocowinity, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for purpose of storing and selling a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ava Kelley, 42, of Chocowinity, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gary Taylor, 32, of Chocowinity, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Michael Baker, 35, of Chocowinity, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested five individuals on January 11.

The arrests stemmed from investigators receiving several complaints that methamphetamine was being sold and used on 41 Hudson Farm Avenue in Chocowinity.

Investigators established surveillance and stopped a vehicle driven by Aidan that departed from the residence.  

K-9 Bodi alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. 

Investigators said they found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.

Officials responded to the residence to speak with Aidan’s parents about the methamphetamine that was found in the vehicle.  

Investigators arrived at the residence and saw Thomas, Baker, and Taylor standing together in the front yard.  

Officials said they saw Taylor throw a plastic bag containing methamphetamine on the ground.

Investigators conducted a search warrant on the residence and said they found more plastic bags containing methamphetamine, plastic bags containing marijuana, a jar containing marijuana, digital scales, snorting straws and smoking pipes.                                    

Aidan was given a $5,000 bond, Thomas a $10,000 bond, Ava a $7,5000 bond, Taylor a $7,500 bond and Baker an $8,500 bond. 

All the individuals were sent to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
