A Loving Home: Damon

News

When you first meet Damon, he sounds like your average teenage boy. He enjoys playing outside, riding his bike, and animals. His confidence and ambition definitely standouts.

Vicki Dithane describes 13-year-old Damon as a unique boy.

“He’s curious, imaginative, fun, and he loves to help. He’s a helper, he’s compassionate, and if you give him a task he will be on it, but he loves cleaning,” explains Dithane.

Damon enjoys subjects like math and science. Damon says he has a plan and his goals are pretty straight forward.

“I want to be in shape, stay focused in school, get my grades up, and I hope to go to college,” Damon adds.

But when it comes to his dreams, growing up without a family has inspired who he hopes to become.

“Helping out the country, saving the country, being out on my own sometimes, and see what it’s like to be in the army,” says Damon.

His independence and heart to serve will require a special kind of family.

“A family that is active, and what I mean by active is that they like doing different things like they go places together and Damon likes simple things,” Dithane explains.

Damon loves the outdoors and would like a family who has other kids. Dithane also expressed that Damon would be best with a family who has patience with different learning styles and family with Asperger’s and Autism. Along with what learning styles would work best with that.

“I see him as a young man with resilience and strength, and dedication,” says Dithane.

Damon responded, “A Soldier.”
