A Loving Home: Najeeyah

WNCT 9 On Your Side is partnering with the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina for an adoption series we’re calling “A Loving Home.”

Every Tuesday at 5 p.m. Anchor Angie Quezada will profile a different child looking for a family to call their own.

Najeeyah is an 11 year old girl who is very intelligent, sweet, and super creative.

Katie LeMaire has been working with Najeeyah and her 12 year old sister Ja’Kerah for some time now.

“NaJeeyah has such a warmth about her, she’s one of those kids that I like to call an old soul; she picks up on things very easily, and has a tender heart,” says LeMaire.

She may be the younger sibling out of the two, but she is very wise for her age. And with that wisdom, she has an awesome personality to match.

“She is the sweetest she can be, she is funny, and when she gets ina mood, she’ll talk your ear off, ” adds LeMaire.

A social butterfly who also loves playing her video games, and watching Pokemon.

Although shy at first, Najeeyah has a very charismatic personality.

Najeeyah’s ideal family would consist of a two parent household. She loves children, however due to her trauma it would be best if Najeeyah is the only child or the youngest. It’s also important for Najeeyah to stay in contact with her older sister Ja’Kerah.

“Ultimately we would love to see Najeeyah and Ja’Kerah adopted together into the same family, however we know because of their traumas sometimes it’s a little difficult to manage both girls. So as long as we find families willing to maintain that sister contact, that bond that they already have, phone calls, occasional visits, since their both so artsy, sending pictures…” LeMaire says.

Najeeyah has a bright future ahead of her, she just needs a loving home, and a family that’s willing to be apart of her growth and journey.
