GREENVILLE (WNCT) – Area high school football teams had the chance to scrimmage for the first time on Wednesday.
Most teams were scheduled to play in scrimmages or jamborees twice in three or four days to try and get ready for the 2016 high school football regular season.
East Carteret hosted a four-team jamboree on Wednesday night featuring Greene Central, Havelock and Southwest Onslow.
JH Rose was a part of the four-team jamboree at South Johnston that also included Knightdale and East Wake.
DH Conley hosted Tarboro early Wednesday morning, while Farmville Central traveled to South Central last night for workouts.
Ayden-Grifton and Tarboro are two schools that will host jamborees on Friday night.
Our area’s biggest jamboree is on Saturday afternoon at Northside-Jacksonville. The Monarchs will be hosting the Marine Federal Credit Union Jamboree featuring East Carteret, East Duplin, Dixon, White Oak, Jacksonville, Swansboro, SW Onslow, Richlands, Heide Trask, Croatan, Lejuene, South Lenoir, Pender, Kinston and West Craven.
