RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCT) – The North Carolina Arts Council announced it will work with local partners to measure the economic impact of the arts.
The Americans for the Arts nonprofit organization is heading up a national survey for the fifth time. The council is asking 32 local partners to help the effort in North Carolina.
Some of the local partners come from Pitt County, Lenoir County and Dare County.
During the year, audiences attending cultural events in these areas might be asked to complete a survey.
The council said when it participated in the 2012 survey, it found that arts and culture are part of an over billion dollar industry in North Carolina.
