Beaufort County writer publishes first book, tribute to Black History Month

Beaufort County writer Eileen Lettick has published her first children’s book, entitled “Sarah the Bold.”

The book is the story about an 11-year old African American girl who is magically transported to the colonial year 1765.

The reader follows Sarah as she tries to make sense of her new life in pre-revolutionary America.

The book is a tribute to Black History Month.

“The story is her journey and she has to deal with the racial sentiment of the time,” said author, Eileen Lettick. “She meets a renowned historic figure and I won’t tell you who it is, not to ruin it for you.”

Lettick says she is already working on the sequel to the book. “Sarah the Bold” is available online and in retail book stores.
