VANCEBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Two men are safe Friday night after their boat caught fire earlier today on the Neuse River. It happened not too far from Cowpen Landing in the Neuse River.

State Wildlife Resource Officers tell WNCT, the men are experienced boaters. The 19-foot Tahoe caught fire towards the back of the boat while the men were fishing.

They jumped out of the boat. Both men were wearing life jackets. They floated to shore without injuries. The boat was a complete loss.
