Police at North Carolina State University say two hungry burglars broke into a sorority house on campus and stole some food before running away on Wednesday morning.

The break-in happened at 3 a.m. Wednesday at the Kappa Delta sorority house in the 2300-block of Greek Village Drive.

No one was hurt in the incident, but officers say the incident is an important reminder for students to lock their doors and windows.

The break-in comes on the same day as a town hall meeting that campus police are hosting about student safety.

Police covered everything from available safety training programs to weapons policies at Wednesday morning’s meeting. They also talked about the criteria for issuing safety alerts.

Late last month, police say someone tried to break into a female student’s dorm room after following her to her room. No one was hurt in that incident.

Police also talked about an app that students can download to get more information about any safety concerns on campus. They emphasized that they can only get out information after it’s reported to them, so they urged people to report any crime or safety concerns immediately.
