NCDOT Div. 2 hosting outreach events for contracting opportunities for small, disadvantaged business enterprises

RALEIGH –  N.C. Department of Transportation’s Division of Highways in partnership with its Office of Civil Rights is inviting small, disadvantaged businesses to learn more about contracting opportunities with the department.

From 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 25, NCDOT staff will host a virtual event for NCDOT’s Highway Division 2. Division 2 includes the following counties: Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Pamlico, Pitt.

To date, over 200 people representing more than 150 firms have participated in the events. 
NCDOT awards contracts in mowing, litter pickup, landscaping, snow and ice removal, traffic control, painting, striping, road construction, and other areas.

In keeping with COVID-19 safety protocols, the NCDOT will host some of the DBE Outreach events virtually and some that are in larger venues will be held in person. NCDOT will host the virtual events on Microsoft Teams.

To use Microsoft Teams:
1.    Click the invitation and follow the prompts to join the meeting.
2.    Enter your name and choose your audio and video settings. 
3.    When you’re ready, hit Join now. NCDOT requests disadvantaged business owners RSVP if they would like to attend virtually. To RSVP for the Division 2 event, contact Mary Margaret Herring mmherring@ncdot.gov or 252-775-6100.
