A popular local restaurant serving authentic Dominican food says it will open a second location this summer near the hospital in Greenville.
Jay and Eridania Bastardo, who own and operate Villa Verde Restaurant in Greenville, said in a press release on Tuesday that they plan to open a second Villa Verde Restaurant by the end of June, at 2247 West Arlington Boulevard, near Vidant Medical Center.
The Bastardos say the second Villa Verde location will show off more of their Dominican heritage and will serve pernil, rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, and other regular menu items, in a fast-casual atmosphere.
The couple started Villa Verde with a food truck in 2012.
In 2015, they expanded the business into a full sit-down restaurant, located at 2601 East 10th Street in Greenville.
