CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – The interim director of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport now has the job on a permanent basis.
Multiple media outlets reported that Brent Cagle’s job was announced Wednesday.
City Manager Ron Carlee said Cagle has done a good job of leading the airport for nearly three years.
Cagle had been named interim aviation director to replace former director Jerry Orr in 2013.
Orr left as the city and the state were involved in a dispute over who would control the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration has indicated it will not intervene in that dispute, which leaves the airport under city control.
