Candidate Warren Judge’s widow new nominee for N.C. House seat

MANTEO, N.C. (WNCT) – The wife of recently deceased NC House of Representatives candidate Warren Judge will run in his place, according to the Warren Judge campaign Facebook page.

The North Carolina Democratic Party House District Executive Committee for State House District 6 voted unanimously to name Tess Judge as the Democratic nominees for House District 6, the post said.

Warren Judge’s name will remain on the ballot, but if voters select him, Tess Judge will serve out the two-year term. Warren Judge was running against another Dare County commissioner, Republican Beverly Boswell.

“We are proud that Tess Judge will have the opportunity to serve her husband’s term if he is elected tomorrow,” said Kimberly Reynolds, executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party. “This vote also assures voters that a vote for Warren Judge will go to someone who couldn’t be more committed to honoring his legacy and reflecting his values – his loving wife Tess”
