GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – ECU’s head football coach Scottie Montgomery held the Pirate’s Annual Ladies Clinic on Saturday.
The annual event gives women the chance to get an inside look into what it takes to be a part of Pirate football. The ladies took the field just like the Pirates do.
Amanda Rossettini comes to the camp every year with her friends. She said, “The excitement is really high, having a great time seeing the boys and running around.”
Another camp participant Alice Williams said, “It gets us pumped up.”
Coaches had a number of drills set up. Coach Mo was even in the mix.
“Everybody is here competing on the field it’s lovely because they’re getting to poke our coaches a little bit,” Coach Mo said. “I like that you know, because it’s not just me poking the coaches, it’s them poking the coaches as well.”
The ladies said this event is something they always look forward to.
“It’s great meeting the guys and it’s also great meeting the new coaches and all of us getting together and experiencing what it must be like for those young guys,” Williams said.
Camp participant and ECU employee Danielle Morrin said, “It’s been great the energy from the coaching staff has made me really excited for this upcoming season and I cannot wait until September to see them take the field.”
Coach Mo said anyone can be a part of Pirate Nation, “We’re having a blast out here! I’m really excited to see how it’s going to continue to grow and grow and grow.”
