NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Craven County Schools laid out its final budget request at Monday’s Board of Commissioners meeting.
The Board of Education’s Finance Director said among those requests was nearly $500,000 for technology that both students and teachers would use.
Denise Altman said it’s all part of the county’s five-year plan to replace all outdated equipment.
“The need is definitely there as more of our tests are online and the units that we have in some cases are so old we can’t even update software,” Altman said.
A nearly $1.5 million request for its local current expense fund will be revisited at the next meeting scheduled for next month.
