D.H. Conley student arrested in shooting at Campus Pointe in Greenville


GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Greenville police have arrested a D.H. Conley student in a shooting at Campus Pointe Apartments Tuesday.

Brianna Maria Faith Johnson, 19, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Pitt County Schools has confirmed she is a student at D.H. Conley.

She was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.

Greenville police said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are likely.

Tony Glenn Kaipo Johnson, 23, is the man who was shot. Greenville police said he is expected to make a full recovery.

Johnson is not an ECU student, police said, and the two are not related.

He was taken to Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries early Tuesday evening, according to the Greenville Police Department.

As of Wednesday morning, Johnson is in serious condition, according to Vidant.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. inside of an apartment at Campus Pointe apartments on Greenville Boulevard.

Greenville police said they are confident it was a targeted incident, and they have spoken with the victim at the hospital.
