Two people have been arrested after deputies said they found more than 300 bags of heroin during a traffic stop in Rocky Mount.

Christopher Holland, 32, and Amy L. Utley, 32, of Bailey, were charged with two counts of level 1 trafficking of heroin.

An investigation into illegal heroin trafficking led to a traffic stop on Cokey Road in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe County deputies said.

Holland was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and deputies said they found more than 300 bags of heroin packaged for sale.

The heroin was located under the passenger seat, deputies said.

The passenger was identified as Utley.

Narcotic Investigators along with the Tar River Regional Drug Task Force assisted with Holland and Utley’s arrest.

They were sent to the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.
