GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – East Carolina University released an alert Tuesday night regarding shots fired off campus.
According to the alert, an unknown number of shots were fired in the 2600 block of East 3rd Street around 9:30 p.m.
At least one bullet hit a house, yet no one was injured. Officers are in the preliminary stages of the investigation. Greenville Police said early indications suggest it was a targeted incident and there’s no further threat to the public.
Authorities are looking for a silver 4-door car in connection to the incident. It’s not clear how many people were inside or what direction they traveled in.
