ECU dental school cuts ribbon on new research facility


GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine faculty, staff and students gathered for a ribbon cutting of a new 15,000-square-foot research facility.

It has both labs and support areas, and both students and faculty will utilize the learning space located on the fourth floor of Ross Hall.

ECU officials said this is an example of their commitment to research.

“The faculty may be leading a lot of the research, but the students are also participating in it,” said Dr. Greg Chadwick, the dental school’s dean. “Many of the students will have their own research projects.”

Chancellor Cecil Staton, as well as a number of deans and local legislators, was on hand for the ribbon cutting.
