GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – ECU Football is out-and-about in the community this week.
The Pirates visited the Third Street Community Center for field day. Wednesday, kids 5-to-8 had a chance to play with the team. Thursday, children 9-to-12 will get their chance.
Defensive back Deshaun Amos said playing football is only a small part of what it means to be a Pirate. The sophomore explained that spending time in the community is what it’s all about.
“Being on the field, like I said is the easy part. We’ve been playing football since… I’ve been playing football since I was in the fourth grade, but I haven’t been doing community service since I was in the fourth grade. So, being able to come out and do community service it helps me, but it helps the community as well,” Amos said.
Thursday’s event starts at 1 p.m.
