JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — An Onslow County Detention Center inmate who escaped Friday is believed to still be in the area, the Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Deputies said Daniel Walter England III could be in either Onslow or Duplin counties.
They said he is likely not wearing his orange jumpsuit anymore.
England is not expected to be armed, but deputies said anyone who sees England should still be cautious and call 911.
England escaped into the area of the Jacksonville Country Club Golf Course Friday morning.
Officers were stationed around the golf course looking for England, who was wearing an orange jail jumpsuit at the time.
He is described as a white male, 5’7″, 150-160 pounds with brown hair.
At the time, Onslow County Schools put the following schools were put on lockdown as a precaution.: Morton Elementary, Hunters Creek Elementary and Middle, White Oak High School, Jacksonville Commons Elementary and Middle and Northside High.
England was being taken to a doctor’s appointment Friday morning and ran away from a deputy when getting out of the vehicle, deputies said.
England was jailed on charges of larceny, breaking and entering and meth.
