GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The East Carolina men’s basketball team will officially open the 2016 season on Friday with their first organized team practice.

On Thursday, the Pirates hosted dozens of local and regional media outlets.

Seventh-year head coach Jeff Lebo continued to stress the team’s excitement for the start of the season.

East Carolina will welcome ten new Pirates in 2016, including three players above the height of 6’8”.

The Pirates also return three of their top scorers from 2015 in Caleb White, B.J. Tyson, and Kentrell Barkley.

ECU went 12-20 a season ago, 4-14 in conference play.

East Carolina’s first game is November 11 against Grambling State in Greenville.
