Members of faith-based organizations are coming together in prayer, remembering the life and legacy of Congressman Walter B. Jones.
The Interfaith Clergy of Pitt County wrote in a statement-
“Congressman Jones was a man of the people, with a kind heart and the courage of his convictions, he dedicated his life to serving his Savior and to standing up for Americans who needed a voice.”
9OYS also spoke with a Pastor Jason Lineberger at “Ignite Church” in Winterville. He said Congressman Jones was a huge help to the church.
“There were a lot of things I had no idea what I was suppose to be doing and I was really amazed at how available Congressman Jones and his entire office was especially trying to make sure we were doing things correctly financially,” said Lineberger. “He saved me tons and tons of paper work, his teams was willing to work for me as if they worked for me, and this was at a time when I was not even getting paid as a church-planting pastor, so he really made me and our whole organization feel really special and saved us a lot of time and grief.”
Pastor Lineberger also said the congressman met not only the needs of the city, but also the average citizen.
