FEMA specialists are on-hand this week at Lowe’s home improvement stores to answer questions and offer tips about rebuilding after Hurricane Florence.

Specialists are available in New Bern, Jacksonville, Washington and Goldsboro until February 27th from 8 A.M. to 4: 30 P.M.

They can answer questions about the importance of flood insurance, how to make a disaster plan and put together supply kits as well as questions about home repair.

According to FEMA’s website, mitigation is the effort to reduce the loss of life and property damage by lessening the impact of future disasters.

In the coming weeks, FEMA is anticipated to hold more mitigation events in disaster-affected counties.
