WILLIAMSPORT, PA (WNCT) – The Greenville North State all-stars are just one win away from the Little League World Series U.S. Championship game.
Greenville pitchers threw a combined no-hitter, while the hitters banged out 18 hits in a 16-0 route over the West region champions from California. The offense was highlighted by Carson Hardee who blasted a grand slam in the second inning to bust open the Greenville lead. JoeJoe Byrne also added a solo-shot in the victory.
After a combined perfect game in game one Friday, Greenville pitched a second consecutive no-hitter against California today. Chase Anderson and Matthew Matthijs combined on the no-hitter.. It is the first time in Little League history that a US team has pitched back-to-back no-hitters.
North State will now play on Wednesday night against Lufkin, Texas.
