LOS ANGELES (WSAV) – President Jimmy Carter, a Georgia native, won his third career Grammy award for ‘Best Spoken Word Album.’
Carter won the award for his audiobook “Faith: A Journey for All,” which details how faith has sustained him in life.
Since its release last March, the book has become a New York Times Best Seller.
The 39th president competed with a diverse lineup of nominees including Courtney B. Vance, David Sedaris, Questlove and Tiffany Haddish. The category includes poetry, audio books and storytelling.
In 2007, Carter won his first Grammy for “Our Endangered Values: America’s Moral Crisis.” “A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety,” earned him another win in 2016.
Carter has been nominated 9 times, the first of which was in 1997 for “Living Faith.”
