Freeboot Friday moved to Pitt Street Brewing due to weather

GREENVILLE N.C. (WNCT) – Freeboot Friday has been moved indoors to Pitt Street Brewing Company due to weather, Uptown Greenville has confirmed.

“In our 18 year history, we’ve probably canceled Freeboot a handful of times, so this relocation for the event is not a cancellation for all Pirate fans,” said Bianca Shoneman, Uptown Greenville director. “It’s not a cancellation; we’re just relocating all the great assets like our food trucks, our band, our great tshirts over to Pitt street brewery.”

Uptown Greenville said events like this help build a great relationship with the town and the university.

“I think that university relationship is important to their city and Freeboot Friday is a real town gown event where the city helps support the University football game by bringing in a pep rally where everyone is welcome,” said Biana Shoneman of Uptown Greenville.

The event will run from 5 -8 p.m.

The event usually takes place at Five Points Plaza every Friday before ECU home football games.

Uptown Greenville is helping host some game day transportation as well.

A shuttle will run from Sup Dogs and Five Points Plaza before and after the game.

WNCT is a sponsor of the event.
