Goldsboro Police investigating fatal hit and run

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT)- The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a fatal weekend hit and run.

It happened 11:22 p.m. Saturday night in the area of the SR 1591 near America’s Best Value Inn on US Hwy 70 E.

Police responded to the scene and found 39-year-old Windom Levi Elliott of Show Low, Arizona had ben struck by a car while he was waling along the edge of SR 1591. Elliott died of his injuries at the scene.

The car that struck Elliott fled the scene before police arrived.

Goldsboro Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of the car and the car involved in the fatal crash. So far, the investigation has determined the suspect’s vehicle is dark blue, possibly a Ford F-150 type pick-up truck, 2004 – 2008 year model, possibly with a bed cover.

The truck will have front right side (headlight area) and right side-view mirror damage.

After hitting Elliott, the truck fled the scene traveling east along the service road toward Wayne Memorial Drive.
