Greenville commission hosting forum to address traffic congestion

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Greenville Police Community Relations Committee will host a forum Tuesday night with city leaders to discuss both traffic safety and traffic light timing.

The meeting came just two months after 9 On Your Side took an in-depth look at traffic light timing in Greenville.

The Greenville Police Department’s Traffic Unit Sergeant Mike Montanye and city traffic engineer Rik DiCesare will be in attendance.

Committee chairwoman Diane Kulik said the meeting was inspired by the many complaints she received from people about traffic light timing and traffic safety.

“The area that most of us, where there can be something that goes wrong, that can affect you and your family would be traffic,” Kulik said.

A safety demonstration will start the forum at 6 p.m. in the Greenville Utilities Commission parking lot followed by the meeting itself at 6:30 p.m. on the third floor inside City Hall.
