GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville continues to strive with more people and businesses heading to the area, but what about the parking?
City leaders approved spending more than $50,000 at Thursday night’s council meeting to hire a consulting firm.
Roger Johnson, economic development manager, said it’s important to pay a professional to study where parking should be, instead of placing the spots just anywhere in Greenville.
“The consultant will come in and explain what the future looks like in their mind and we will develop parking strategies to account for the future growth,” Johnson said, adding that they plan on hiring a firm in the next 90 days. From there, it could take a few years to finish construction on new parking spaces or a parking deck.
