Greenville to receive $100 million for road improvements

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – Greenville Mayor Allen Thomas announced Thursday Greenville would receive $100 million from the state DOT for road improvements. The funds were discussed during Thursday’s city council meeting.

Construction is set to begin in 2017, and continue for the next five or six years.

A large portion of the money will go towards widening main roads like Firetower Rd., Evans St., and 14th St.

The rest of the money will be used to make repairs and enhance roads in the city.

This money is in addition to the $15 million voters approved as a bond referendum during the November election.
