Greenville’s Democratic Party reacts to Trump visit

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – In response to Donald Trump’s visit to Greenville, the Democratic Party wanted to tell its side of Tuesday’s story.

Pitt County Democratic Party chairman Sonny McLawhorn said North Carolina has a major decision to make this November.

“If you ask a Donald Trump supporter why they support him, what they say is that he tells it like it is; he’s not like other politicians who will just say what you want to hear,” said McLawhorn. “But actually telling it like it is just means that Donald Trump is willing to talk ugly.”

McLawhorn said North Carolina is important to the election because history shows whoever wins the state will likely win the presidential race.
