A Harlowe man has been charged with animal cruelty after officials said they found three dead dogs in a property on Thursday.
The Craven County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Craven Pamlico Animal Services in rescuing numerous dogs from a residence on Adams Creek Road in the Harlow community on Thursday.
Officials said that Alton Frazier was charged with animal cruelty.
The animals rescued were transported to the Craven County Animal Shelter where they will receive food, water and update medical care.
According to officials, three dead dogs were located on the property.
Sheriff Chip Hughes said that “animal cruelty and neglect has gone unchecked in this county for too long and we are not going to tolerate it.”
