Chuck Hasty is out as police chief of Roanoke Rapids, city officials confirmed to our sister station CBS 17 on Wednesday.
Hasty’s employment with the department ended Wednesday, City Manager Joseph Scherer confirmed.
Scherer said he could not elaborate on Hasty’s departure as it is a personnel matter.
Hasty served as chief in Roanoke Rapids since 2014.
Prior to that, he was a captain with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.
CBS 17 last spoke with Hasty on Jan. 22 at the scene of a standoff on Old Farm Road.
That situation ended peacefully.
